2014 came in with a vengeance. First, came the 6 inches of snow. As you can see, the kids were loving playing in the powder!
But then came the polar vortex. There really isn't much you can do when it feels like -40 outside except paint your nails and craft. We tried the "throw water out the window and watch it freeze mid-air" trick, but since we just used hot water, not boiling water, all it did was make some steam before landing on our sidewalk, freezing immediately, and endangering passersby.
It stayed cold through the next weekend, so we decided to celebrate mom's favorite awards show (The Golden Globes) in style by getting out the fondue kit. The kids were big fans!
