There are so many things that I love about you and I wanted to list a few in honor of your birthday.
I love that you are growing up so confident and self assured. You have very clear ideas of what you like and what you don't, and you aren't easily swayed. Just like your birthday party theme. Lourdes loves playing with Finn's toothless figurine, so she wanted a Toothless party. Whereas Sabine loves brushing and styling her ever growing hair, and so she wanted a Rapunzel party. Neither feeling the need to compromise.
I love how much you enjoy your activities. Sabine you choreograph dances to the Pandora station I'm listening to while making dinner while Lourdes practices her cartwheels and somersaults.
I love that you are growing up so strong. You both do the monkey bars at least 10 times at every park we visit. Sabine, I can see your calf muscles pop out when you are dancing. And Lourdes has the tightest little core that lets her do pull overs on the bars. On our many walks around the city, Sabine runs most of the way while Lourdes is usually right behind Finn on our bike rides.
I love how outgoing you both are. When you arrive at school, you are best friends with everyone. On our way in, you are high fiving all the teachers, even the ones from the upper grades. The second you step in the building, friends are calling your names. But, in keeping with my first point, you each have your own friends. Sabine loves helping the younger kids in preschool follow the rules and navigate the classroom, whereas Lourdes tends to hang with the older kids.
I love how independent you are. I drop you off at dance class and you run to your teacher and are taken away to your classroom without giving me a second look. Many kids your age are a bit clingy when first getting dropped off at a birthday party. Not you two. You run in and start playing and don't think of me again until after cake.
I love how funny you are. Sabine you make the most hilarious voices and faces to crack us up. You are such a little comedian. Lourdes, you inadvertently say the most hilarious things. You have a very dry humor that I'm sure will serve you well as an adult.
And lastly I love how cuddly you both still are. Nothing erases a long work day like a big snuggle from my girls. Nothing makes my mornings brighter than waking up to you two nestled near me.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say that I am so blessed and I love you both so much. Happy Birthday Sweethearts!
