Finnegan's 8th birthday!

And to end the weekend, yes this is still the same weekend, we celebrated Finn's 8th birthday!  He wanted a Percy Jackson themed party at the Laboratory and it really couldn't have been cooler.  First of all, check out the sweet cake!  I mean Alliance Bakery was able to put the movie poster onto a cake.  How cool is that!

And the Laboratory really did it up with the decorations.  I loved them.

And the party was basically an hour of fun with science.  The owners couldn't have been more patient and fun.

Recital/hockey tournament weekend

It was a busy weekend in the Manning/Kline house.  Gigi, Papa and Aunt Tish came out to enjoy it with us.  Aunt Tish, Gigi, the kids and I kicked off the weekend by taking in The King & I at the Lyric Opera.  It was the first time I'd ever been to the Lyric and everything about it was gorgeous!  I had never even seen the movie King & I, and I fell in love with it.  

Then Friday night, we were off to the northern suburbs to cheer on this awesome goalie!

And Saturday was exhausting...mostly for the girls.  They had to be at the theatre at 11 a.m. to get ready for their shows at 1 pm and 5:30 pm.  They were backstage the whole time and we didn't see them again until almost 8!  But they did so amazing in their dances.  The finale was especially cool and Sabine and Lourdes were absolutely beaming during the applause at the end.  You can tell these girls really love to dance.  And I enjoyed every minute of both recitals.  All of the girls are so talented.  I'm already excited to see what they come up with for next year!

Mother's Day 2016

Had another wonderful mother's day.  After a nice brunch at home, we walked down to Jonquil Park for some play time.  Then we took in Emerald City Theatre's production of Magic Treehouse: Night in New Orleans.  Excellent!

Then Joe gave me a couple hours off to meet up with a friend at Bliss spa for massages.  AMAZING.  We finished off the day with a family dinner at Emilio's tapas.  Couldn't ask for a better day.  Love these kids so much!
