Monkey Party!

My fellow Co-Chair of the Neighborhood Parents Network - Multiples Group has identical twin girls, Audrey and Adeline, born exactly a day after my twin girls.  We've had several play dates together and so we thought it would be cute to throw a joint second birthday party at Little Gym.  It was a blast.  Gigi, Papa and Aunt Jen came in for the party.  We had around 16 other kids come and Little Gym is the perfect place to let them all run out a lot of energy.  Here are some of the highlights:

Ready to partay!  Note that even big brother got in on the theme.  That was VERY important to him.

Sabine working the bar.

While Lou tackled the parallel bars.

Mass kid craziness!

Finn and Mae on the uneven bars.

A small break from the free play for some sing-alongs.

Then back to monkeying around.

Wacky wheel ride the kids loved.

Mae and Lourdes having a moment.

The big hit of the party was an inflatable platform.  All the kids could lay on it as it inflated.  Sabine was a bit too nervous to do it by herself, so Rosa and her daughter Hannah rode it with her.

And then the kids took turns bouncing down it.  Well in theory they were supposed to take turns, but Sabine would bounce down it and then run right back to the front of the line to do it again.  She was taking the "it's my birthday party" approach to the line.  As Finn put it as he waited, "no fair."

After burning all those calories, the kids were ready for pizza, fruit, and, most importantly, cake.

Audrey and Adeline getting ready for their big moment.

Happy Birthday, girls!

And then it was Sabine and Lourdes' turn.

They didn't straight out say "i like it, cake," like Finn did at his second birthday party, but they certainly made known how they felt by how much they ate.

As did all the kids.

And then it was home for present opening!

One of the biggest hits of the night was Finn's gift to the girls - My First Princesses, Rapunzel and Belle.

Sabine also loved combing the hair of her new baby from the Ohio Aunts.

This doorbell house was a big hit with all the kids.

As were the Cinderella legos from Grandma.

Bob getting in on the Rapunzel action.

The next day, Bob, Linda and Jen stayed with the kids and got to have even more fun with the girls' loot.  Here are Sabine and Lourdes modeling their new backpacks from Dad and Mom.

And looking adorable in their new outfits from Gigi and Papa.

I don't think they could have asked for a better second birthday!
