A big milestone moment for the Manning/Kline family: we no longer have any cribs in our house! We decided that at almost 3, the girls were too old to still be sleeping in cribs. And we also knew that eventually they would want bunk beds just like we were getting for Finn. So we decided to take the plunge and buy bunk beds for both rooms. We even let them each pick out their bedding. Lourdes wanted Hello Kitty. Sabine picked princesses. Space sheets for Finn. Gigi and Papa came out a few days before the birthday bash to take down the cribs and supervise the construction of the bunks. They look great, and the girls have never slept better. Before, Lourdes would cry to come up to our bed at least once a week. Since we have switched to the bunks, there has not been a peep out of either of them. Finny, of course, still likes to climb in around 2 a.m. and snuggle, but he loves his bed up until that time. Since the beds arrived, the kids have loaded their beds with so many toys and books, I don't even know how they can fall asleep without rolling onto something uncomfortable. But they seem to do just fine. These are pictures from the first night when you can actually still see the comforters.
