Joe and I are not much for toughing it out on rugged camping adventures. But, I like the idea of sleeping out in a tent and roasting marshmallows, as long as there is a real bathroom nearby. So I jumped on the opportunity to go camping at the Botanical Gardens, and convinced the Boxer family to join us. It was perfect. We got there and had some pasta salad and fruit, before taking a "hike" through a more rugged portion of the Gardens. Then, when we got back to the campsite, the kids got to plant a flower in a pot to bring home. At which point, it was time to bring out the smores, which the kids absolutely loved. The kids ended the night running around playing "zombie tag" with flashlights while the parents had a glass of beer/wine. Then it was time for bed on our blowup mattress after a trip to the nice restroom to brush our teeth. The next morning, we awoke to coffee and bagels before heading home. The kids had a BLAST and we will definitely be doing this again next year.
