July 4th Weekend

Our family travelled back to Ohio for the July 4th weekend and had so much fun! The festivities started out on Friday night with a bbq at Monna's to celebrate Tish's birthday. Finn had a blast playing with his cousins, especially when they started catching fireflies and playing with glow bracelets. Saturday was the annual pool party to celebrate Lucia and Isabelle's birthdays. The Bexley pool is seriously one of the best pools I have ever been to. While last year Finn was a bit hesitant in the water, this year he had a blast! He went down the slide, splashed in the water, and played football in the pool with Uncle Greg. I think Lourdes is going to be a fish, because she took to the water right away. Sabine was bit more hesitant, but once she got used to it she had a lot of fun. After the pool party, we all headed back to Aunt Molly's for some pizza and general kid craziness. Towards the end of the night, the kids decided to play baseball. Finn made the unfortunate mistake of hanging near the pitcher, Marco, while Lyle was helping Izzy hit. Lyle hit a line drive right into Finny's arm. Finn was non-too-pleased, but quickly recovered when it was his turn to bat. He made a good showing, but Xavier put on a show of how you knock a ball out of the yard. That kid is going to be an MLBer someday, I'm predicting. The next day, we drove down to Grandma Laser's house for a visit and so that Papa could take Finn fishing for the first time. I was worried Finn would be interested for about 5 minutes, but he never had a chance to get bored because he caught a fish every time he put his line in the water. He seriously caught upwards of 25 fish in an hour or so. So fishing went over HUGE. And then Monday before we headed back, we went to Vicki's for the Bexley 4th of July parade. As always, we had a blast! Here are a few of the highlights from our weekend.
