The Budding Artist

One Friday night Joe was working late and so I decided to get out the paints that came with Finn's easel and let him have at it. They were a HUGE hit! Finn painted for easily fifteen or twenty minutes straight and when it was finally time to put the paints away and take a bath, he LOST it. Now almost every night that I come home, Finny goes to the cupboard where I keep the paints and tugs at the door while saying "paint, paint." I guess paint is this boy's medium. And as you can see below, he does good work!

Finn's other newest obsession is his bubble bath, specifically the fact that he thinks there is a dolphin in his bubble bath. It's kind of a Catch-22 for Finny, because he loves his bubble bath. But after he's been playing for awhile, he looks at the other side of the tub and starts to scoot away while saying "dolphin dolphin" in his scared little voice. Dad and I have told him over and over again that there is no dolphin in the bubble bath; that dolphins are too big to get in his bath, but he's not buying it. Now when we even bring up the bubble bath, he gets really excited at first and then looks at us and says "dolphin?" We have no idea where this idea came from, but it obviously troubles the poor kid.

I snapped this picture of Finn when he was waiting for Rosa to come in the morning. He looks so grown up!
