Finny turned 15 months old last week and that night we took some pictures of him in his pj's playing with our camera case. Yesterday, we went to Dr. Rosenberg's for his 15 month checkup. Finn was 29.5 inches long (10th percentile) and weighed 19 lbs and 2 ozs (bottom of the chart). The doctor wasn't too concerned about his size though after learning that Joe was about the same size as a toddler, if not smaller. Dr. Rosenberg finally conceded that Finn is just never going to be a very big guy. So we breathed a sigh of relief. But only for a second, because then it was time for Finn to get 3 vaccines. The nurse asked me to hold Finn's arms and put his legs between my legs. Well I held his arms tight, but after the first stick Finn kicked the needle out of his leg before she was able to push the syringe down and then kicked the tray with the other two needles onto the floor. Since the needles were now contaminated, the nurse had to go replace them all and WASN'T happy about it! When she got back, we held Finn a bit tighter and she was able to give him his three shots. But he still was fighting her and screaming when she tried to put the bandaids on, so I told her just to step back so he could calm down and I would put them on. Well she stepped back and told Finn she was sorry she hurt him. He looked right at her and screamed "BYE BYE." She quickly scurried out of the room and he calmed right down. On our way out of the office we walked by the nurse and Finn started to cry again. She said "that baby is little but he sure is FEISTY." That perfectly describes our little guy.
