The first big project in 2nd grade is the community project. Basically, each kid is to pick a type of community (rural, urban or suburban), build a replica of it out of any material he/she chooses and then write a letter to Ms. Haidet's parents persuading them to move to your chosen community. Finn chose an urban community. He made a little replica of Chicago out of legos complete with a taxi, Buckingham Fountain, the Willis Tower and two parks.
