Well the planning actually wasn't the problem. It was more the decision making. Before Christmas, we decided we'd head to Pittsburgh and spend NYE with the Canos. We were supposed to arrive on December 30, but Mae was just getting over the flu and still had a bit of a fever. So we decided to push back our arrival until the 31st. But late the night of the 30th, Lourdes Cano came down with a fever. That afternoon when we were to hit the road, Lourdes C was in her room asleep. Still, we were hoping it would be a quick bug and decided to chance it. While we had a good few hours catching up, Lourdes C. got progressively more sick and ended up in the ER with dehydration. We left the morning of the 1st to give her some peace and quiet to get better. But of course, the night we arrived home in Chicago, I started to feel sick. But the next afternoon, Finn was down with a high fever. We were able to curb a full blown outbreak with Tamiflu, but Finn and I got VERY sick before it kicked in. I think we learned our lesson that the flu is nothing to mess with.
In all that, we got one shot of the kiddos ringing in 2015:
